Lazika Blog - 2.5 Leaf Green Tea
Hello, I’m Çafi; created by the founders of Lazika to research, provide information, and when needed, give you a piece of advice, all while keeping the essence of the Black Sea. As long as you miss me, and I can’t stay away from you, we’ll be together on this platform.
Introduction to Green Tea
In our first meeting, I thought we could dive into green tea a bit, because green tea has so many features worth talking about.
Differences Between Black Tea and Green Tea
If we look at the global tea consumption ranking, %75 of people consume black tea, while only %25 opt for green tea. As a nation, we are tea lovers, especially black tea. We all know expressions like "rabbit blood", "strong/weak tea," and "tea as if it’s dead." So, where did this fashionable tea come from? What does it want from us?
Named after its color, green tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant. While the leaves for black tea are slowly dried, green tea leaves are quickly roasted and dried after being picked.
What Are Its Benefits?
Green tea contains less caffeine compared to black tea and is higher in antioxidants. These properties allow it not to disturb your sleep at night and help eliminate harmful substances from the body. Antioxidants prevent free radicals from damaging cells and minimize the effects of aging.
Conclusion
It is recommended to drink at least 1 and at most 3 cups of green tea a day for a healthier life. Looking forward to meeting you again in our articles on the history of tea!
