Tea is Here

Tea is Here

Tea is Here

We will rebuild our homes, create new cities, and heal our wounds... We can do it, we will do it, we will start again, sit in our new homes, and dream new dreams. The indescribable pains we’ve lived through will be smoothed away by our great power to forget. Our pain will stay in our hearts, or if there is a place deeper than the heart, it will be there, throbbing in our most unreachable place. Like everyone else, we will forget everything except for our own pain. Perhaps the power of forgetting won’t work in the face of the magnitude of our pain, but then we will show our power to adapt. We will adapt and move forward with endurance. Our pains will not prevail over our passion for life. Our minds and dreams will be filled with brand new ideas and hopes. We are human, and this is how we will do it. We will not go with those who are gone. We will be angry that they didn’t take us with them, but here they left us, and here we will stay, we will live. That great passion for life will begin to stir within us and illuminate the future. Humans live in the future. Then we will write, work, toil, build, create, and make. Slowly, we will catch up with the life that’s trying to run away from us. We will catch it, we will live...

We Need a Reason

We will need moments when we decide to catch up with the life that’s slipping away. For example, a child’s smile, a mother’s kindness, a father’s warm hand on our head—if all these have gone, if they’ve left us, there will be a reason to keep going. A hope of having a child, a hope of becoming a mother, a father, or even a challenge, but surely a reason will appear. Something will trigger our unstoppable rebellion. At an unexpected moment, something in front of our eyes will suddenly appear, and we will be dazzled by its brightness. For example, a hand holding ours. Or maybe Beşiktaş’s match. Or, who knows, the magic in the song of a bird. Or someone will rise from the rubble and say, “I’ve made tea, we are starting again,” and a world will be created in that moment. Then, the invisible hands around our throat will loosen, and the scent we’ve missed will fill our lungs. A kindness, a beauty will reveal itself. It’s simply hot tea. An unfinished conversation will begin again. A red brew will bring back all the lost colors.

Life Begins Again

The ordinariness of the words “Make tea” will lay life before us. So, for all those who will start again; “We’ve made tea, we will begin again.”
