The Fascinating Nature of the Kaçkar Mountains
The Kaçkar Mountains are a fairytale-like region bordering three provinces: Rize, Artvin, and Erzurum, with its highest point being Mount Kavrun (3932 meters). With its diverse ecosystem encompassing endemic plants, glacial lakes, glaciers, and ancient and natural forests, it is a paradise for nature lovers and the entire world to discover and protect.
Storm Valley and Charming Villages
The charming villages of Çamlıhemşin Konakları, Küşüve, Makrevis, and Pogina, with their historic mansions, are well worth a visit. The fact that the main hall of these mansions is called "Hayat" (Life) reveals the cultural depth of these places. Hayat is the heart of a home; it's where guests are welcomed, meals are eaten, children play, and the family gathers.
Boxwood Forests and Unique Landscapes
Boxwood Forests And Castle Plateau Places like these are uniquely beautiful destinations for both nature and history enthusiasts. In this region, which was once part of the historical Silk Road, you can visit historical structures such as Kale-i Bala and enjoy breathtaking views. Reaching the summit of Mount Tatos through mountaineering is also possible.
Verçenik and Tahpur Plateaus
Verçenik Plateau stands out with its unique hiking trails and glacial lakes. Located at an altitude of 2618 meters, this plateau offers the opportunity to climb to the 3711-meter summit of Verçenik Mountain. Tahpur Plateau, with its 2995-meter elevation, is the highest settlement in the Kaçkar Mountains. From this plateau, you can enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the Kaçkar Mountains.
